Welcome to day 15 our James Bible Study! We’ll be unpacking verses 21-22 today.
Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you. 22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. James 1:21-22
How hard is it to get rid of moral filth? Do you find it gets easier the further along you are in your walk with Christ? Or are there seasons where it is harder than others?
Do what the word says.
That seems simple enough, doesn’t it? But how hard is it really?
I know I personally struggle with worrying about making others feel bad about themselves or I worry they think I’m a holy roller and somehow think I’m better than others. I do not think I am better than others, but it does weigh on my heart quite often.
What about you? What does this verse say to you? How do you struggle with any part of it?
Today, write out these two verses and focus on any words God lays on your heart. Journal about any moral struggles you have and ask the Lord to release you from the bondage to them. Believe Him to break the bonds.
Fill in the blanks for your memory work today.
Would you like to partner with our team in Haiti? We need prayer partners and financial partners. If you can’t help financially, join us in prayer! We need them. You can also help by sharing our campaign. God has all the finances we need to complete our project while we’re in Haiti. We want to provide them enough financially that they can complete the church building once we’re gone. We’re helping souls for generations to come! Praise Jesus! Find out how here.
Blessings,
