Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9
Don’t give up is the current theme of my life the past week. First it started with some very yucky comments left in hidden places on my blog, while they also left “Christian” speak comments where the world could see (you know, so I’d look like the bad guy when I removed them).
Then I came under attack for removing the commenters. And yet again when I asked for prayer on my Facebook page over something very specific concerning my blog and something going on behind the scenes (not gossip as some would believe).
To top this week off, I have been hit by the stomach bug (or food poisoning) of the century. I’m still not feeling all that great and the radio show is tomorrow night. It crossed my mind to cancel. Maybe I’m not ready, not wise enough, not doing the right thing, or won’t be well enough. That clouded my mind for a very short period of time when I realized that those thoughts aren’t coming from the Lord. I’m going to press on and press in.
Wouldn’t the enemy love it if we all gave up when he put the pressure on? Victory won’t be his this time. It’s much easier to give up when things seem tough or impossible but we don’t work for the enemy. Don’t let the enemy discourage you or keep you from God’s work. If the Lord doesn’t want you to pursue something, does He stop you with cruel thoughts? Cruel attacks from others? No!
Remember, our responses to others are being watched by non-believers. I have to remind myself of this too. We witness often without realizing it on places like Facebook. I’m still saddened by the non-believers who witnessed the attack of believers by other Christians last week on my page. Too often things that should be discussed in private are taken to a public arena. Is what you have to say to another believer meant to edify and encourage or to tear down and make you feel better about yourself? Pride often disguises itself as correction.
It would be much easier for me to feel defeated and give up. It certainly would take some negative offenses out of my life and remove some annoying situations right now. I have four kids so I certainly don’t need anymore drama! But if the enemy is fighting this hard to discourage me, it can only mean one thing. That God’s doing 100x more to encourage others and I have to keep up the good fight, even as sick as I feel right now. Tired, exhausted, and weary.
Are you feeling defeated? Is the enemy trying to make you feel defeated? Do you recognize the difference between God’s no and the enemies taunt?
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
PS – I apologize if I’m not completely coherent.
Today I am linking up with Women Living Well.
Oh, sister! You encourage me so much!! You are right though, the enemy is terrified of your message of healing and redemption. I am so thankful that I can read about this struggle and your willingness to press into God, to spread His message, even in the midst of opposition. What a huge testimony of the faithfulness of Jesus Christ; He is doing a great work and how fortunate for us; we get to witness it!! Love you sister, and I’m praying for your health and “nerves” : ) It’s gonna be AWESOME!~!~!~!
Thanks Jodi! Nerves and stomach bug are not a good combo. I really need to be healthy 🙂
Thank-you so much for your encouragement. I was totally meant to wander on to this page and find this post. I have been overwhelmed lately by my latest project, and I feel strengthened.

Wow, have I been away from bloggy land that much that I missed all the drama? I’m so sorry you have been going through all that! Let it be proof to you that you’re on the right track! Sounds like you have been under satanic assault, girl! You are exposing the darkness and it don’t like the Light! This is the 2nd time today I’ve seen Gal. 6:9, it’s one of my very favorite Scriptures. Blessings to you!!!
Hang in there girl! I’m so proud of you for pressing on! I missed the drama as well, but you know what -it doesn’t really matter. You are a beloved child of God and you are searching after His heart -that is what matters. We are all working out our salvation with fear and trembling, if we are truly seeking Him. We all have a lot of forgiving to do even in the body of Christ. It’s a continual process of loving, forgiving and growing 🙂 -Love you- (Hugs) Hope the Holy Spirit just flows from you as you share on the radio.

Hi Mel,
I too missed the drama that was going on. I’m sorry you’ve had to deal with this, and then be sick on top of everything. You are such an encouragement to many of us. Praying for you,
Jan
