Wedding Photos and Mishaps!

Share your wedding photos and mishap stories! I know you have them. Just a little fun for a Saturday morning.

Melinda ToddOur mishaps –
– my husband had dreadlocks – yep, seriously

– my best friend almost didn’t come and she was a bridesmaid

– the minister embarrassed my husband by teasing him during the ceremony

– the minister wasn’t a real nice guy

– my little ring bearer and flower girl ran circles around us during the ceremony and then slid across the floor on the train of my dress

– the cake lady forgot our cake – so we didn’t get what we’d ordered but it was free

And you know what? The day was still perfect! My husband and I celebrated 15 years of marriage on March 1st. Not bad for two young high school sweethearts! β™₯

What about you? Got any mishaps or crazy stories to share?

I’m linking up with So, I married a Mennonite . Go check out the rest of the love stories!

  1. Love this…
    Ahh….the beginning of…well….real life.
And what could be more beautiful? πŸ™‚

  2. My flower girls started beating each other with their flowers in the middle of the ceremony. My husband remembers none of it. The pictures are the only proof for him now.

    • Oh no! Hopefully you laugh now πŸ™‚ I was laughing as my little cousins circled me but I’m pretty sure both aunts were mortified!

  3. Wow, very interesting… especially the dreadlocks! LOL
And the wedding picture is so pretty!

  4. Yay, 15 years! You guys look so happy, you would never know all those wonky things happened! I loved reading your list- Thanks for linking up at my place! πŸ™‚

  5. This is so cute!

    Our mishaps:

-The pianist started playing the bridesmaid/groomsmen processional at the wrong time. She realized it when the first bridesmaid/groomsman were halfway down the aisle. She suddenly stopped the music. They just looked at each other, shrugged their shoulders and kept walking.

-The line-up of bridesmaids and groomsmen got out of order, so everyone was matched up with someone differently than in rehearsal.

-They totally missed a song. The opening minister (my uncle) realized the mistake and asked them to then sing the song. The other minister (my hard-of-hearing grandfather) didn’t hear what was going on and kept talking above the music.

-I almost kissed my husband before they said to kiss. (It was very noticeable.)

-The best man–my father-in-law–left the maid of honor standing by herself on the platform.

-The minister-my grandfather–announced my husband as Phil. His name is Will. (He corrected himself.)

    • Oh wow πŸ™‚ Lots of fun memories πŸ™‚ I forgot one. When we had our first dance, they had to move the tables back a bit which for some reason made one of my mom’s friends think we were tearing down so he started taking stuff down and everyone followed. No dancing! I was kinda bummed about that but oh well πŸ™‚

  6. 15 years! Awesome! My husband and I celebrated our 14th year this year. It’s great that you were able to see past the oopsies of the day and focus on the truth of the moment.

  7. When one of my daughters was flower girl in my nephew’s wedding, she marched down the aisle on cue and with grace at the rehearsal. However, on the day of the wedding she refused to walk down the aisle. The music kept playing and the people kept glancing over to see what the holdup was. And so I finally grabbed her hand and we walked down the aisle together. Cute:) Picture this. Everything had been so perfectly coordinated in lavender and white. And here I come all dressed in bright pink, walking beside the flower girl in the most adorable lavender frock.

    • Aww! My uncles had to actually walk the flower girl and ring bearer down the aisle πŸ™‚ Neither wanted to go, can’t blame them! But my uncles were in the wedding so it actually worked out perfectly πŸ™‚

  8. Melinda, I forgot to mention the dreads.. classic πŸ™‚
    Fun post!
