Over the past three days I continue to see some images and a statement by Mike Huckabee being passed around about how we have kicked God out and can’t expect Him to be present when we’ve told Him where He can and cannot be.
On one hand, I get the sentiment.
But is it a biblical truth? Can we truly say, God is omnipresent and will never leave us nor forsake us and then turn around and say, that we as mere men, can kick God out of the school or this country?
My children love Jesus. All four of them go to public school. So when I send them out the door, does God somehow abandon them because they are entering a public school building? No, of course not.
They can go ahead and ban prayer at schools but can they truly ban it? No. Because you can pray silently in your head. No one can steal your thoughts from you. They can’t ban us from praying over the school each day as we drop our children off or load them onto the school bus.
We have power in Christ. Let us not forget that in times where we struggle to make sense of tragedy and heartache.
And let us also use extreme caution with what we share online. If it isn’t biblically true, don’t post it. We may be the only bible non-believers ever read. What you post on Facebook, Pinterest, and Twitter matters!
Do you think we can kick God out? If so, please share. If there is something I’m missing, please explain. I only ask you be kind and follow the comment guidelines.
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 3:16
