We Can Be His Love

She took one step forward and then another, timidly approaching the front of the sanctuary.  Her hands trembled as she approached the front; her heart nearly beat out of her chest.  Once she arrived, she turned around to face the church body.

Women streamed out of their seats and down the aisle towards her.  Her whole body began to shake as fear started to enter in.  One by one, the grace of God sent loving women to her side and surrounded her.

Tears were shed.

Arms hugged.

Hands were laid.

Prayers rained down from the lips of these gracious women.

She felt Him.  In her moment of need, she knew her Holy One loved her in a way she could physically feel.  In that moment, God loosened the restraints on her breaking heart and set her free from her weary burden.

Often times, God sends people to love on us physically.  He shows us His love in other people.  A touch, a nod, a prayer, a kind word are sometimes all we need to feel His presence.

We are called to love one another because love is of God.  Ever wonder how you can really show people who God is?  It’s by our love.  I know that sounds cliche’ but how many times have you met someone who is so full of God’s love that it radiates from them?  In fact, so much so that you find yourself thinking, I want what they have!

My friend, we all have the ability to have what they have!  Every single one of us has been given a gift to love.  The gift of salvation was poured out on every single person; all we are required to do is accept it!

1 John 4:7-12

11Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.
