In a recent article Phil Robertson was quoted for his biblical beliefs on homosexuality. He listed a whole entire list of sins, which included homosexuality. He wasn’t hateful. He wasn’t judgmental. He quoted from the bible. *And yes, I saw his matter-of-fact statements about not understanding the attraction gay men have to certain anatomy. I agree with him and still stand behind him.
When will Christians be allowed to speak without being censored?
A&E knew what they were getting with the Robertsons before they ever hit our television screens. But what do they do in the face of adversity? Tuck tail and run.
He didn’t just call out homosexuality. He called out a list of sins! Heterosexuals sleeping around for one.
The greedy. Um, hello A&E. You’ve made millions – probably more – off of this family and now you’re going to criticize them?
The drunkards. Idolaters. Swindlers. And Slanderers.
That likely covers most of us at some points in our lives. And yet, I don’t find myself offended by being amongst those sinners.
Because I know he speaks the truth.
If I didn’t agree with him, I wouldn’t watch the show!
But here’s where it gets tricky for some. Lots of shows and movies out there have content that I find bothersome and offensive. If it’s not hate filled, I often overlook it and continue to watch.
Not everything has to cater to me. Shocking, I know.
If it is truly offensive to my nature, I turn. it. off. A click of that magical red button on my remote control – or television as we don’t have a remote and I actually have to get off my duff and walk to the tv to turn it off, yet I manage. I. manage.
We need to get over our alleged rights and stop trying to be PC – but only to those select few groups who cry the loudest. It’s enough already.
I personally don’t like the sins of the liars, thieves, murderers, slanderers, adulterers, etc. But I choose to see the people beyond the sins and love them the same. Because I’m a sinner too and yet, I’ve been given the same undeserved gift of salvation offered to each of them.
And I trust that God, the God who created everything, has this under control.
Your sin? Not my business. I’m going to trust love to cover the multitude of sins and let God do His job.
I will stand behind Phil Robertson and his biblical views. I will no longer be tuning into A&E. I suggest the Robertson’s buy their own network and control all the shows on it. Uncle Si can be the next Dr. Phil!

Do Christians need to become a protected minority?
“We are all created by the Almighty and like Him, I love all of humanity. We would all be better off if we loved God and loved each other.” Phil Robertson
Here is the official statement from Duck Commander on the issues with A&E. Way to stand behind the patriarch of your family!
* Let’s also not forget that his comments about blacks in the actual context they were spoken, were his own personal experience as a CHILD. So he may not have noticed what was going on around him. Kids can be totally oblivious. I didn’t know my dad was an alcoholic until I was almost 12. We cannot cherry pick from someone’s words to make them into what we want them to mean.

Blessings,
I agree with you totally. “blessed are those who are persecuted for Jesus name”.
ps. the support Phil Robertson link won’t open
The focus has been on only a snippet of what he said. They forgot to read the rest of the article I guess. Go figure.
…oh good, it opened finally!
I appreciate your well-thought out response. It is amazing that free speech only goes one way.
Thanks Susan, so true. And apparently it is okay to take words out of the context they were spoken so they can be twisted to look evil.
