Welcome to day 43 of our James Bible Study! Let’s take a look at James 5:4-6
For listen! Hear the cries of the field workers whom you have cheated of their pay. Their cries have reached the ears of the Lord of Hosts.
5 You have spent your years here on earth having fun, satisfying your every whim, and now your fat hearts are ready for the slaughter. 6 You have condemned and killed good men who had no power to defend themselves against you. (TLB)
Now take a look at Leviticus 19:13 and compare the verses.
When does storing up earthly money and possessions become a problem? Do some self evaluating and ask God to show you if He is unhappy with your family’s spending and possessions. Be aware that satan is going to want to bring in shame and self-condemnation. Pray for wisdom and discernment.
“Use it or abuse it. Several sources suggested that the sin of hoarding is more than just having. It’s having without using. The wickedness accelerates in the waste. In part, hoarding means withholding what we don’t even use from others who’d treasure it. All of us are accustomed to saying “use it or lose it” but, the fact is, we’re going to lose it all anyway. We’re not taking one ounce of this stuff with us even when we die.” Beth Moore
Are you feeling convicted after the lessons from the last two days? What could you purge from your life and bless someone else with? I instantly think of kitchen gadgets. Drawers and cupboards are full of things I’ve never even used. Yikes. Time to declutter.
Continue to work on your memory verses. James 1:1-9. Say it out loud 5x and write it 3x. Post your homework to the FB page.
Blessings,
