James Bible Study Day 29

James bible study at melindatodd

Welcome to day 29 of our James Bible Study. Today, let’s look at the very last two verses in Chapter 2.

In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging to the spies and sent them off in a different direction? 26 As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead. James 2:25-26

Even Rahab the prostitute. Let that sink in for a minute.

BAM! Straight to the heart. Even Rahab.

Friend, have you ever felt like you weren’t good enough for God to love you? That your past would keep you from fully receiving his grace and mercies? If Rahab can be considered righteous, surely there is room for you!

Journal about what this passage says to your heart. Does it reassure you? Does it make you uncomfortable? Do you rejoice?

Pray over your study. Ask God what He wants to tell you from what you’ve been reading. And then get quiet and listen.

Now we’re adding verse 7 to memorizing! And it’s an easy sentence so I don’t think it will be hard to add.

That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. James 1:7 (NIV)

How is memorizing going? Are you getting it? Have you given up?

Blessings,
