James Bible Study Day 23

James bible study at melindatodd

Welcome to day 23 of our James Bible Study! How are you doing with your study?

Let’s dig into verses 11-13.

For he who said, “You shall not commit adultery,” also said, “You shall not murder.” If you do not commit adultery but do commit murder, you have become a lawbreaker.

12 Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom, 13 because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

Verse 11 probably doesn’t challenge each of us a whole lot. I mean, I hope you’re not committing murder. And some may struggle or have struggled with committing adultery. We should never think we are completely immune to the idea of adultery. Most who commit adultery didn’t ever think they’d do it.

Now let’s talk about verses 12-13 – These two verses are so insightful. Mercy triumphs over judgment! I’d say that sums those verses up pretty well. Today, think about mercy. Give it. Really contemplate what that looks like.

It’s time to add verses 6 to our memory list. Are you ready for it? How is memorizing going? Share in the comments below or come share on the Facebook page.
