In My Father’s House

In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. John 14:2

I dream of a mansion complete with a beautiful white wrap around porch. A home in the country or on enough property that it feels like the country. Enough rooms to entertain our entire extended family comfortably. Togetherness. Laughter. Fun. Games. You name it, I’ve dreamed about it.

Of course along with that mansion in the country,  the finances to go along with it. No worries financially. Peace. Harmony. Beauty.

And then I realize that someday I will have that dream and it’s not really that crazy an idea. It will far outweigh any expectation I could ever imagine. It’s offered to every single one of us.

My dream is only slightly misguided. It’s not meant to be here on a broken planet marked by sin. My savior has gone to prepare a place for me and for you. He’s going to spare no expense, no beauty, no comfort, and no love. It will all be ours and we will revel in His magnificence.

Let that be where your imagination rests and your desires take you. Use your imagination to catch a small glimpse at all our Father has in store for our futures!

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. John 14:3

What do you long for that might actually be a desire to be with the One and Only?

  1. Love this. I think of that when I tour or see mansions like that! Super cool!
