Happy Friday!

Woohoo, we made it to Friday!  Aren’t you thankful for that?

So first, I don’t quite have Part 3 of Uncertain Life done to post for today.  I will keep working on it and try to get it up today.  No promises 🙂

Second, I want to clarify a few things from the Struggling With Tough Issues post yesterday.  Please be very clear on this one important point.  I do not think I am a better Christian than anyone else.  Goodness, I am such a sinner and I am perfectly aware of it.  I was speaking about how others sometimes seem to put themselves above other Christians because they are living “righteously” by doing xyz and others are not.  A long time ago, I was probably one of them.  Thinking I was doing the “right” things and how could these other women claim to be Christians and yet, they weren’t doing the “right” things.  For the most part, that’s just not my personality.  I don’t like to make people feel badly. Seriously, I’d rather hold hands and sing Kumbaya.

I also think God is big enough to love us all where we are at.  Maybe we are doing something the “right” way but I know that we all have our sin and we’re all going to get called on it.  That’s between you and God as far as I am concerned.

I’m not ready to fully come out with what I am studying and mulling over in my head.  I am not done studying it.  While somethings that were said on another site ruffled my feathers and made me feel bad, they also made me think hard and start researching a certain topic so I can decide for myself.  That’s a good thing.  We should be challenged to dig deeper on a regular basis.  Learning God’s word is always a good thing.

I know where I stand on most issues but I also want to keep being molded and transformed.  If I close my mind and heart off to anyone’s opinion that differs from mine, instead of taking the chance to dig deeper in scripture, then I lose an opportunity to grow.

So let’s ask the tough questions.  Let’s think about our responses before we assume what someone is saying or meaning.  If we can’t answer without getting mean and nasty, well, we better take that to the Lord because there’s something wrong there.

Have a great weekend friends!  If you have a tough question, ask it!  I want to hear it.  I won’t have the answers but perhaps together we can dig in and find them!  I want the meat.  I’m ravenous to learn.  Are you?

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Gal 6:9

  1. Ok let me clarify my comment. I didn’t think you were wondering if you were a better Christian or not. (i think you are more mature than that.) I was more saying Why is it important who is right? Does that -being right on any xyz issue make us closer to God than someone else. No, only our hearts determine that. I think that’s why the Lord said don’t waste time comparing yourself to others, because man looks on the outward appearance but He sees our heart. And secondly does xyz make us more effective or capable of reaching out to this lost world. NO. Maybe they are doing xy and z and you are not. As you said so perfectly here …God is big enough to love us all where we are at. You will reach people they never will, and vice versa. And if at some point God impresses upon you to do xyz then that will be in His perfect time for you. -Am I making more sense now?!

    • Yes, I totally get what you are saying 🙂 I am just studying for myself. Because I want to understand it. I think it’s important to feel challenged and dig deep into the word. Not because I want to be right but because I want to have knowledge. I really want to understand Titus 2, historically, biblically, etc. I want to be able to have the biblical knowledge and not rely on my own feelings on this issue. Does that make sense? If we are going to take a stance on something, we should have the knowledge to back it up. I’m not planning on giving those women another thought, visiting their blogs, or trying to prove I’m right. God’s moved my heart beyond that. What I want to know, is what does God say about women and mothers? I’ve read what other people have told me He says but I’ve never dug it up for myself and now I am 🙂 I want to know what God says, not what everyone else says about it.

  2. I have been in the Word more and am still searching out my opinions on Christian behaviors and staying open to what God wants me to learn… Thanks so much for your openness and honesty!

  4. Yes! We have to be continually molded and shaped. There are our own deficiencies, but we also live in a fallen world that can knock us over and with an enemy that can push us (but can’t overcome us). We need adjustments! Blessings to you and so nice to ‘meet’ you via your comment at my place. 🙂

    Thanks Mel.
