Our church is putting together a mission trip to Haiti for Spring break this year and my sixteen year old son and I are on this team!
I am beyond excited! I’ve never been on a missions trip.
Have you ever been on a missions trip? What advice do you have? I’d love to hear about your trips – if you’ve written about them, leave a link in the comments.
Do you have any fundraising ideas? Please feel free to share in the comments! Our first fundraiser is selling our farm fresh eggs.
So that is why there is a Paypal Donate widget in the right sidebar. I will be putting some items up for sale on the site in the coming weeks/months to raise funds for our trip.
Please pray over this trip for all of us.
Every person who contributes to our mission fund (see the Paypal Donate widget to the right) will get a FREE ebook copy of my book, How I Forgave My Molester. Yep, even if you only donate a buck. FREE ebook.
We’re going to La Gonave, the island just off of Port-Au-Prince (the capital)
We have a ministry here who make candles and allow missionaries to sell them and keep all the profit. Depending on how much time you could do the same.
I was able to also partner with another ministry that sold jewellery and they donate part of their proceeds to the mission trip.
Our youth group does Sub sales, they take orders and make subs to sell for a profit.
We’ve also done Krispy Kreme doughnut fund raiser sales.
You can always do a baked goods sale and or a yard sale depending on how much time you have.
Hope these ideas help
Thank you, Lisa! I so appreciate you coming to share! Great ideas. I’m waiting on part of an order to create custom kitchen towels with bible verses on them. And we’ll also have t-shirts for sale. Those are my first brain storms.
