God’s love is uncomfortable. When we get right down to it, we know we’re not worthy of His love and for some, that’s more than they can handle.
Have you ever told someone or had someone tell you, “Jesus loves you“? Hearing that still makes my stomach flip with butterflies. But the times I’ve started to wander away from Christ and someone would say that to me, I wanted to turn around and say, “Really? Then explain this to me!” It hurt to hear Jesus loved me when I was confused but in my heart, I knew it was truth. It was important to hear.
When we tell people Jesus loves them, they have to hear it. Jesus has to cross their minds, if even for a nano-second. Even if they cannot accept God’s love right then. We all want and need to feel loved.
So you want to get folks thinking about Jesus? Tell them He loves them in passing and let Christ stir their heart strings.
