If Only God Answered Instantly

Have you ever wondered why God can’t just answer our prayers right away? We know He can but why doesn’t He?

I mean, I know my prayers for a believing husband were in line with His will, right? So why did I have to wait for eight years into our relationship for God to capture his heart?

Why did my dad have to be dying to finally see Christ as his savior and make amends with his family?

I could go on. My list would be long and continuous like a river. I bet yours would be, as well.

If God answered prayer immediately, how deep of a relationship with Him would each of us seek? Really ponder that.

If you could go to Him every time you wanted something, needed something, or messed up and He’d fix it in the snap of His holy fingers, how much growth would you be able to experience? Would a genie in a bottle capture your heart?

Would you hold back when the urge to sin tempts you? Or would you go ahead and sin knowing you could pray and God would instantaneously make everything right again?

When we start wondering if and when God is going to answer our prayers, thinking on these kinds of questions can help straighten out our heart and mind. But it’s sure not easy!

What’s the longest you’ve had to wait for an answered prayer? Are you still waiting on an answer? And the hardest question, why does it seem that sometimes He doesn’t answer?  Leave a comment in the box below.

So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. Luke 11:9

  3. What a post!! I’ve been waiting on an answer from God for several years now…..and now I’m starting to believe that God is moving in my life and is starting to help prepare me so that He can answer my prayer. It involves several things and one of those is a move back to my hometown (which is almost 500 miles away).
I do know that I can’t accomplish this without the help of God!!
    Blessings to you and yours,
    Donna
