People will break your heart. And God will heal it.
Perhaps if we entered every relationship with this in mind, we could love with full abandon. No matter how much we risk our hearts.
That’s some scary risk.
Who likes having their heart broken? Not me.
Yet, it happens a lot. I find myself with an internal battle to stop caring. Stop going to xyz because it hurts too much. Giving up because it crushes. Sears.
That torn flesh of the heart makes us want to curl up into a ball and say, “Screw it, I’m done with it all.”
Love one another as I have loved you. John 13:34
Despite our breaking Christ’s own heart, He loves me.
Despite brutal beatings, He loves me.
Despite painfully gasping for his last breaths, He loves me.
When that reminder starts to stir in my heart, I know. Even I can do it again.
All my selfish reasons shrink in the shadow of His love.
Here’s my heart Lord, oh take and seal it. Seal it for they courts above.

yes it is But Jesus is the only one keeping me going. The pain seems unbearable. But I know he Loves me and though I am weak he is my strength even when I have none left.
So true! Clinging to those promises through some tough heart stuff!
We have two choices – let Jesus heal us and have us be stronger in the broken places or remain broken. I’ll take the former. Every. Time. I’d rather have a broken, and healed, heart than to stay broken. Or to hide away and never break. Neither are fully living life as God has given us! Great post my friend.
