Getting It Together In 2013

Part of my 2013 goals is to get it together. Be more organized and get rid of stuff. Remember, my one word for 2013 is Decrease. Putting together a home management notebook is at the top of my list of things to do.

Thanks to my friend, Kayse Pratt, I have actually started it! Her new book, Getting It Together, is all about getting that home management notebook in place.

I’ll admit it, I’m a girl who likes manuals. I used to create them when I was working outside of the home because they are so important to keeping everything neat and organized.

I have found many home management systems online. None have ever really motivated me to get with the ball and actually make one. Until I read, Getting It Together. Because it’s simple and all the necessary paperwork has been designed so I don’t have to do it.

The book is full of printables! And Kayse did something I think so many writer’s overlook. She made the PDF so you can type your own information into the forms and then print them out! Couldn’t be easier.

In fact, I read her book and then plugged my computer in and printed all my materials out and got them into a binder in less than an hour. And the printables are pretty, in blues and greens.

I know many of you are wanting to get organized this New Year. So here’s a good start to that goal! This is a really good jumping off point for me. It gave me so many more ideas for things I want to add to this notebook, or to create another notebook.

If there was an emergency, wouldn’t it be nice to have all of your important documents in one place so you can grab it and go?

This week, I have decreased some chaos by putting a bunch of important info into one place.
