Discovering Your Passion

Photobucket

Monday’s Question from Women of Faith is:

Are you following God’s calling on your life? If so, how’s it going? If not, what’s holding you back?

My answer to this is, for the most part yes.  Right now my calling is to be a wife and mother.  Those are first and foremost.  They are gifts, God given.  Blessings that require a lot of time and work.  Lots and lots of work!  You know what I’m talking about.

Being a wife can be work as well.  Going through the cycles of life and changes in our relationship and even in our personalities and the places we are in our lives.

The icing on my beautiful, buttery, mouth-watering cake is that I get to write! For now that is my outside of the home passion.  It’s mine.  It belongs to only me and my crazy brain!  I will continue to write as long as the Lord allows it.  He may decide to shut this down at any time.  Will I be ready to surrender it?  Honestly, no.

My biggest challenge is doing a good job on all counts. I can tell you I don’t do well at all 3 of my priorities at the same time.  I always feel as if I am being stretched too thin or neglecting something I “should” be doing to take care of or another.

So, if you are like me and have young ones in the house.  That is your priority above your passion.  Yes, your husband should be above your passion.  We’re never promised another moment or day with our loved ones.  I won’t regret having not written that one blog post, like I would regret missing special time with the ones I love.

I don’t feel held back by my precious family!  They are my calling!

How about you?  Have you discovered your passion? Is something holding you back from accomplishing or going after it?  Share, I’d love to hear your stories!

Comments are always read and much appreciated

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
